i have 2 problems with my car and have no idea why they are happening
first problem is my car completly shutting down whilst i was driving! had no steering, brakes where rock hard so had to use hand brake to stop, no lights on dash, NOTHING!! there was white corosion on batter. car started again and running fine since.
second problem is when i drive a long distance and slow down corner or stop at traffic light my car will chug until revs reach 2 grand.
any suggestions on why these problems are occuring are welcome!!
Loose battery terminal for the first one possibly? or alternator about to die.
Try pouring some warm water over the battery terminal to get rid of the corrosion then take the terminal off so you can give it a bit of a scrape to get rid of any scale that can act as an insulator and cause a bad connection. Give the battery terminal a bit of a scrape with a knife or something also. The battery terminal should be pretty soft because it is made of lead. If it is hard then it has a buildup of scale from corrosion that needs to be scraped off.
