Hi all,
I've got a 98 VT (auto) and just recently i have found that off a standing start, If I put my foot down too hard, there will be this grinding kind of feeling that i can feel through my feet in the footwell, and can also hear it, It only lasts as long as my foot is down hard. This only happens off a standing start, if the car is moving and i drop a gear or go roughly 20kph then put my foot flat, it wont happen.
So please, what the hell is going on
My mums VS does something similar to that, but it always happens when you put your foot down at any speed, can't help you though sorry
I may have broken the law, but that doesn't make it wrong!
I would be checking the engine mounts. They are prone to sagging so the sump can hit the crossmember on the front K frame. Your exhaust could also be hitting somewhere if the engine mounts are shot.
I know auto gearbox bands can start to grind during gear changes when you give them a hard time off the mark
does sound like engine mounts, does it only do it in "d" and not reverse
