Default VX Series II Executive Engine Upgrades

    Hey guys, and girls...

I am looking at maybe spending some dollars on upgrading the ecotec engine in my vx series II executive...

Firstly is it worth it? (only asking as i brought some good standard tyres recently and they will last me for a couple of years, i hope)

What power gains will i notice?

I don't care about top end speed as you can't legal go that fast anywhere in australia, apart from down a drag strip.. and i don't do that...yet!

I've been looking at exhaust system as I would love to have that growl sound, but would it be that much of a growl from a quiet ecotec?

I am not looking at spending thousands.. maybe 1 to 1.5k.. depending on what gains i could get...

Any advice is good, so help me out guys!

V6 Ecotec Power Parts - Upgrades for V6 Ecotech

goto that address and you'll find what you need.
getting a larger exhaust with better flowing mufflers will always give a nice growl.

I'd go high ratio rockers first off.

do ratio rockers give the best performance / power gains for the price they are...

or should i change the cold air intake, push rods on the rockers, exhaust, etc.. aswell.. to get t he most out of the ratio rockers?

Make sure u get the right push rods for ur high ratio rockers, also having a vx series 2 means u probably have overcasting in the engine which will need chipping to fit the pushrods in. CAI are expensive. Exhaust u wont get much power gains, plus heaps of options whether u want a full system from engine block to tale pipe which range hugely in price.

Once u start upgrading u may catch the bug.
