gear selection knob/button popping out

on my gear selecter, the spring loaded button on top has popped out but will not go back in. does anybody know how to fix this?

Same things happening with my VT.. the dick at the wreckers told me to glue the button back in idiot.. But yeah, im just gonna buy a new stick and button, unless theres a quick easy fix.

oh yeh haha what a dick. i really dont want to go out and buy a new stick if there is an easy option.

Nah, Mine did the same, tried glue, but the material is too weak. It's a dodgy little plastic piece with a metal pin thru it to lock into the selector, so u don't knock the gear stick accidentally out of gear.

What happens is the metal just screws up the plastic over time. What I think does it is if you tend to rest your hand on the gear stick.

The easiest and most effective way to do it is to just replace the whole peice. While your at it, chuck a chrome button in
