Gday mate,
I have installed an Airide kit myself, along with a Dakota Digital controller with Auto-Level feature.
Installing the front struts are simple with them being just a unbolt and bolt in job.
Installing the rear bags was abit trickyer as the bump stops have to be removed and a few wholes have to be drilled through the floor for air lines, but over all not a hard thing to do with some knowledge.
Running the airline is quite a fiddley thing to do as to have to drill a few small holes in firewall and floor which requires the rear seat fully out. The hardest bit was all the wiring, because of the digital controller I have, there is wires everywhere. Finding somewhere to run them is esspecially hard when you have large guage stereo wiring running down both sils, but i managed.
Whene it comes to the layout of the compressors, tank, solonoid block, relays and earth bar, I firstly laid all the pieces out on a piece of steal. (My Ride thread shows this). Once I worked out that thats is how i wanted it laid out in the boot I went ahead and drilled all the mounting holes used buy the pieces, so know I have a plate with everything mounted to it, so in future if I ever want to take it out quick, it's 4 bolts and its fully removed, Nothing is bolted to the floor, only those four small bolts going into Rivnuts.
I highly reccomend the kit I bought from Airide in Bayswater, Melb, as it is made for the car, not one of thoses shitty Universal kit where alot of custom modding is needed.
I did the full install from go to whoa in about 3 days at our factory, on a hoist.
My Dad and I also Installed another kit, same thing into his V2 monaro, That took even less time.
Keep in mind that We are very mechanical minded and unless you're certain you are capable of doing this, I wouldn't take it on as, it can be very dangerous if the wiring is done wrong and it fails while you're doing 110km.
Also on a positive note, I have never had a problem with the Police, mainly because I am sensible, but when I see them, up she goes and everyones happy.
Give us a yell if you wanna know anything else.
Be sure to have a look at My ride tread as I'm pretty sure there is a few pics of the bag setup
Good Luck
Cheers
Ben
