ive been have a bit of trouble with my leads (i think)
I had some help from a few guys on here who recommend i test all my leads with a multimeter to make sure there working properly... Problem is im not sure if this is a good rating for my car its a standard supercharged VT i got...
1. 2.76 Ohms
2. 4.60 Ohms
3. 3.89 Ohms
4. 5.06 Ohms
5. 3.89 Ohms
6. 5.40 Ohms
I know the max for 1-3-5 is 10 Ohms and 2-4-6 is 17 Ohms for the supercharged model, but are these figures to low?
Any help would be great, thanks![]()
Those figures seem alright to me but wait and see if anybody else has something different to say.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
Are they standard leads? Those readings are very good. Static checking of leads lets you check resistance and if there is a dead short(nil reading)Scope will give a better reading however you have probably iliminated the leads. Maybe plugs?
Nothing wrong with those leads for static resistance.
the shorter the leader, the lower the resistance.
Next check is to take the leads off, soak in hot soapy water an measure again while submerged (ends just out of the water).
Any lead that's reading varies is likeley to have a porous (aged) insulation and is suapect.
Visually check the leads looking for crease splits or black short marks. Same for the plug tops and coil tops.
If that test and search turns up nothing you need to look elsewhere
