    Default will cats make a difference?

    hi all.
    Atm i have pacemakers and dual 2 1/2s with no resi, but with stock cats. If i upgrade to highflow cats will i get a different exhaust note?? and much more power??

    They will make it a bit louder and deeper, and they will free it up and give you a bit more go.

    I can do metal hi flows for $295 each.

    Your best off going for ceramic cats, I do believe they are the only ones that pass epa aftermarket testing. Could be wrong though. HM make a decent set.

    i wouldnt go ceramic a few apparently have melted the insides but i think that really applies if your thrashing it everywhere go for the metal core ones

    LS1's eat ceramic cats. The metal high flows that I do meet all EPA requirements and are perfectly legal. They are 200 CPI and flow to around 750hp.

    Quick questain, will they in any way have an effect on that 'pooping' noise the exhaust makes when you back off the acellerator?

    Yes, high flow cats can make it "poop" more.

    power no sound yes get a diff ratio change then youll notice the power difference

    Good to see someone trying to get more power out of a V8, not wasting their time and money on a V6

    High flow cats do make more power than the stock cats on an LS1 actually.
