The 5ltr, 195i is a HSV enhanced Holden 5ltr V8 engine, which if I recall correctly uses HSV headers, and the use of knock sensor, and a tune to produce 195kws at the flywheel.

I believe the quoted statement is incorect, the 220i is actually a 355ci stroked Holden V8 with similar enhancements to the 195i, and produced 220kws at the flywheel, I dear say it would have been an option because I haven't seen many around. Both the 195i and 220i are found in early model (97/98) VT Senators, Clubbie and GTS's.

From 1999 onward (Series two) I am pretty sure they used the "Gen 3" which in the Senator's were rated to 250kw at the flywheel.

The Senators are beautiful car's so it's certainly a good pickup if it has low km's on it. Pictures are a must, so please shear when you pick her up :-)

    220 in the 5.7L stroker.

    The 5L only had 195.

sorry mate but I've never heard of a 220i holden storker in the series 2 VT n onwards. The GTS-R had a 5.7L 215i stroked n blueprinted motor but this wasn't the case with the VT 2 Senator getting the fresh 5.7L gen 3 (as ALL VT 2 V8's were chev gen 3 5.7's)

the gts-r was a 235kw stroker i think in the vs ones.the vt senator came with the 195kw 5l ,the 220kw stroker and the series 2 ls1 250kw. if you have a choice of all three go the ls1

Nope, if you read my post again from late 98 / 99 or series two onwards they ran with the "Gen 3". Only the earlier Senators had the 195i or the 220i powerplant.

Regardless of what power plant they have, they are very nice cars, I am looking at trying to fill my stable with one at the moment ;-)

    This post is correct.

195i and 220 in series one, and then the GenIII in series 2.
