?????????????????????????????????????
better off to just trade up in my opinion.
Otherwise, keep an eye out for people selling vy/z parts because original parts from holden will cost ya. also, you'll have to get them all painted (no matter where you get them frm)... which will cost you... and when you go to sell it you're selling a VX... even though it looks like a newer model.
Then... you still have an older engine, suspension, etc etc (assuming nothing has been replaced and the car has an average amount of ks on it)
If you want a 'different' look, make it different... dont make a common car look like another common car for that much money, without the benefits of actually having a newer car
just my thoughts.
dosent vxs have totally different backs on them wouldnt it need a major amount of metal surgery to do it as theyre two totally different shells without interchangeable panels from the earlier vt/x to the newer vy/z correct me if im wrong but i dont think its possible
why bother? just go buy the newer car
agreed easiest option would be just trade it on the model you want, the extra you would need would be the cost in parts and paint
The Blue One
It is possible. Front is just a bolt on job, rears need the sheetmetal either grafted on, or VY/Z panels welded into place. Completely doable, but not sure why you'd bother.
Only time i'd do a conversion like this is to make a monaro have the later model rear end to suit its manufacture year.

on a serious note, easiest way to convert your car to look like a VY/VZ would be to source out your front panels (bonnet, guards, bumper, headlights, reo bar) seperately, then source out a VY/VZ that was involved in a head on collision. Remove the rear quarter panels (stuck on by spot welds), remove yours from your VX, and reweld it all up. then swap boot over and rear bumper, along with side skirts. Then give the entire car a respray!
Then, if you really wanted to take it further, if the interior is in good nick and complete, swap out the complete interior including dash pad + cluster. its a straight swap if you swap everything including looms + bcm + door looms + roof looms + engine harness
Cheers.
I guess instead of changing the whole rear panels you could cut off the panel just behind the rear lights and weld on the vz section . The done a similar thing when the first VL proto types were built, they used a VK shell and grafted on the VL rear lip onto the rear panels .
