Everytime the aerial comes up to full lenght or retracts back downinto the car it makes a loud knocking noise and the mechanic said that it is bent somewhere which is causing the noise. He said they are about $100 and can fit it for a total of $180.
Does anyone know if this is the cause of the problem and how easy is it to replace yourself.
Also is there a fuse to disable the aerial for the time being.
Cheers
dunno if there is a fuse cos i think its run from when the radio, it goes up when is turned on, if you have an aftermarket stereo just disconnect the power lead from the ariel to the stereo
Hey,
Its on Fuse 20, which is also Power Door Locks, Windows, Audio... so yeah...
A new GM antenna from Holden is about $70.00 and takes about 2 hours to remove/fit the new one. Its a bit of fiddling arround because you have to take the wheel off to get room, but not impossible either![]()
