Engin Light Problems And Clanging sound.Help

Alright so Every now and again I will have the engin light come on in my Vt Commodore and a bad Clanging sort of noise starts in the motor and the light will stay on until I stop the car and restart it sometimes it will be fine for a few days but sometimes it'll turn back on 5 or so minutes later... Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Don't know about Holdens but this sounds like a crank angle sensor problem that some Subarus suffer with.
Can anyone give him any further help than this?

just take it to ya mechcanic, they ll plug it into diaognistics and tell you ya problem. they shouldnt charge ya much to plug it in.
