    Default stiff accelerator pedal

as the title suggests just wondered if anyone has had this? also a small amount of play before the car accelerates. does the cable need changing or just the pedal needs adjusting and lubing up

The cable can be adjusted up near the throttle body. Disconnect the cable and and see if the pedal and cable move freely.

Is your car series one or two?

Series one had a longer cable which ran around the shock tower & over time would get crushed by having the bonnet closed on it thus making it stiff. Series two ran a shorter cable which came around before the shock tower. They arent expensive. About $40 from your Holden dealer trade price & not hard to replace.

Stiffness will be due to carbon build up around the butterfly of the throttle body causing friction.
Youl probably find once the car has heated up its not so bad.
Just give the thottle body a good clean out with some carby cleaner.
