hey guys im thinkin of gettin new wheels for my vt executive and im leaning towards the ve ss or ssv wheels, any ideas on where to get them at a good price
i would check ebay, its the most likely way to get cheap ones...or check the papers in the classifieds
Do you want 17's or 18's?
If 17's are enough get a set of VT Calais International if you like that style. They're easy to get and cheap plus don't have hubcaps (which often fall off or get pinched). They don't need to be machined to suit the VT (like the VE wheels do) and the rubber is cheap and doesn't wear too quickly like the larger wheels do. I got my set thru a business in South Melbourne (via eBay) in late 2007 for $750, set of 4 brand new including the small plastic centre caps. I've seen the same wheels on Ebay recently for $800-900 (not the same business but - he must have run out).
If you don't like the Calais International style try somewhere like Wheel King or Motorfield (both Melbourne). With Motorfield, because i've actually been there myself i know they have a huge industrial shed full of rims and/or tyres removed from new Holdens direct from the factory (i.e. from Holdens that become HSV's and have bigger wheels fitted etc). I know their VE rims are available both as is (to suit VE) and machined (to suit VT-VZ). I think Motorfield still list on eBay as well (as user ID motorfielddirect).
Picked my set off VE SS 18"s up for $600
They are as new, so were just fitted to cars on showroom floor then removed so there pretty much brandnew.
I got them off ebay from place called wheel power in clearemont meadows.
