Default vx vt damage repair center pillar dogleg

    hi guys

first of all i want to thank for the amount of info i have gathered from this forum so a big thanx for everyone who have put their time and knowledge to help each other.

i recently bought a damage car (see pictures attached) from a auction and i would like to know if anyone has done a repair similar to mine.

i would like to know is it is easy to take the whole panel out of the car ( center pillar + dog leg + any other panels) and replace the damage with a new complete section.

has anyone got a manual to take the panels out?

    cheers
    kalu

The reason that a job like that has to be left to professionals is:
The car has to be put on a rack or bench (similar)
Steel plates have to be welded to (outside) the sill, dogleg, centre pillar and pulled with a
tower or number of towers to bring in back in alignment.
(sometimes the pulling of the damage will have to be done simutaneously)
As the outside of the panel is getting pulled out it will "drag the inside panel out as well"
Once the "inside" panel is where it used to be the outside panel is cut off
This includes the rear door hinges, which will later have to be welded back on
The inside panel is repaired and they then will take a section from a uni side
    (can be bought from holden)
Or a second hand section (not adviseable in case previously damaged) and weld that to the inner panel
Once the uni side section has been welded on, the doors need to be fitted back on and the rear door hinges welded on in the original postions, this is where the trouble starts

....get a few prices from panel shops to do this work......Trust me

    hi

thanx for the advice guys, i was advised to get a professional to do the job from many people including my mrs lol.

been a sheetmetal worker and spray painter and working with steel all my life i thought i could give it a go since it seems a small damage. both the fount and rear windscreens are fine (no cracks) so there shouldnt be much damage to the structure of the car.

i was thinking of buying a secondhand complete half from a wrecker ( A-panel +center piler(B-panel) +dogleg+ top and bottom trims) and have a play with them (cut the spot welds and welds) to figure out how they fit in the jigsaw puzzle. i was gona play with the parts i bought from the wrecker before i touch the car.

where would you get the information of how all the panels get attached to each other i saw about 3 panels been spot welded at the roof trim. would holden have a manual with this detail information?

    thanx again
    cheers
