Hey everybody, my vx berlina wont fire when i go to start it. I had been out and about all day with no proplems at all,
I tried swapping fuel pump relay, used my spare key, checked leads, now im doing my head in.........
It will turn over fine, all dash lights fine just wont fire.
Next step would be greatly apperiated.......... Starter fine, battery fine, half tank fuel,

Sounds like your Starter Motor or maybe your Starter Solenoid. Wouldn't be your battery or Alternator as its still holding power.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
Not my starter motor, it turns over fine, got alot of power, just not firing,
What your saying Mumboman is full of shit,
Is the security light flashing when you are trying to start it, if so the immobiliser is not turning off.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
If its the security light on radio it is flashing while im turnig it over and i noticed the engine warning light is on...........
I mean the security light on the mode switch.

No its not flashing
When you turn the ignition on do you hear the fuel pump priming for a few seconds?

The only thing i notice is the power trans warning light does not go out while its cranking over, unable to hear fuel pump,
It was running sweet till i went to start it last night,
ya should be able to hear ya fuel pump coming on, (not while cranking it over but just as ya turn ignition on and dash lights come up, should hear it then) even if ya get someone esle to turn ya ignition on for ya while ya get down near tank to listen and make sure.
If you can hear it...hit your fuel tank a couple times with a hammer whilst someone turns the ignition on..if that doesnt work try again with someone cranking it.
If the fuel pump begins to operate, replace fuel pump.
Another thing to try if your fuel pump isnt operating is get a battery and two pieces of wire, crimp some connections onto them and put direct power to your fuel pump, see if it operates, if it does, get someone to crank it. If it starts, your not getting power to your fuel pump. Check signals from ecu.
Just checked fuel pump and it primes when ignition turns on, Im going to try new leads and plugs maybe that could close the gap a bit more, If that makes no differnce is it possible it could be coil pack
will try that now
So far it looks like i got codes 46 and 75,
not sure if you know or not but it says 46 is your crank angle sensor(which would explain y it's not starting)
and say's 75's auto related
don't hold me too it , its just what the book say's
75 is telling me voltage spike which affects the BCM, unsure about other codes but i keep getting 75
i wouldnt worry about the leads and plugs its more likely to be your coil pack and DFi module.
or could be the crank angle sensor like wana s' charge stock vt said.
mate had the same problem with coil pack, parked it up overnight then wouldnt start the next day
Thanks guys, this one has been a headach, will let yous know how i get on
I added an attachment to my last post after I replied, you might not have seen it.
