Check the VIN number on you rego, check the other threads to find the VIN translation or check your manual. It will say which series it is.
Ok, this may sound like a stupid question but I purchased a 2001 (Could be 2000 - Cannot remember off the top of my head) VX Commodore Executive and I was wondering if there is any way to tell which series it is....
Thanks for any help![]()

Thanks for the replies guys. I just checked and it is a Series 1
Only reason I was asking is because I have heard that due to the lack of the control link rear suspension the rear tires etc wear out faster than normal....Is this anything to be worried about?
depends.....Originally Posted by ForceX

there appears no difference in tyre wear
except if you tow a lot...

don't be too worried about it... but it is something that's common amoung vt's and vx s1's.

Hey, I'm lucky to get 6000 out of my BMW bike.

The easiest way of all to check is look at the indicator stalk. (They are NOT interchangeable between series I and II)
The Series II has a cylindrical type stalk, whereas the Series I stalk has a large square type end.
My boss who used to be a tyre retailer says that apparently the Control-Link Rear Suspension is actually the old BMW 3-Series rear suspension adapted to the Commodore. Being a much larger and heavier car, the rears only get 3,000ks apparently...
