Default Vt Audio Question ( could be stupid)

I Am Upgrading The Sound System In My Car, I'm Thinking Of Getting A Kenwood Cd Player, 4 300w Boss International 6.5" speakers for the doors and 2 6x9 500w boss internationals for the back shelf, the cd player has 4 x 50w outputs so i am wondering, would i be able to connect the front door speakers straight to the unit, and run the back 4 off a 4 channel amp?, i am very new to the whole sound system side and that may seem like a very stupid question, also how hard is it too install an aftermarket cd player, my thoughts is the hardest would be to remove the covers from the front, am i wrong again? Any Input Welcome And Any suggestions also. I Will Be asking the people i am getting the unit and speakers off aswell but i was looking for a few pointers here first. Cheers

for a start if you where wanting to run the 6x9s in the rear as well as the 6's in the rear doors i would consider getting only 1 way 6x9s and using them for bass only. you dont need that much treble and mid range in a car unless you wanna be one of them guys drivin down the road and all you hear outside is teh tiss tiss tiss tiss instead of boom boom boom. IMO you would be better running

6.5 inch splits in the front from the amp, 6.5 2 or 3 way in the rear from head unit and bridging the other 2 channels on the amp to run a single 12 inch sub......

you will get better sound in the front seat doing it like that as you dont sit in the back and the rears are just for fill and well who cares what people hear in the back you aint there, your drivin....

    G'day Bc,

Just did a quick google on the boss speakers and I don't think I would bother with those... Save up your money and buy something better. Fusion make good stuff for cheaper end of car audio. The Fusion Power plant stuff looks OK, search at www.ryda.com and invest in a 4ch amp for the speakers and a 2ch amp that can be bridged for your sub. Again don't bother with the boss stuff for the amp, I had a "1000watt" Boss amp and it was garbage, sounds was crap... replaced it with a Kenwwod amp and the sound was so much better.

SSman is on the money, you spend your time in the drivers seat so that's where you want you treble coming from, the rear fill should mostly be bass. At least that's my preference.

Be careful too, I found car audio can be addictive and the $$$$ will soon add up

About the sub idea, The Only Place it Would Fit Is The Boot,No? Also What Size Sub Would You Use? Would 2 bridged channels from a 750watt amp be 1500watts max output?

ya can do what ya first asked, i had mine like that and it all worked fine. but ended up putting in a sub, so the 6x9's and sub were run off the amp, and the 4door speakers were run off the cd player, and its 10x better with the cheap sony sub in it .

its also illegal and defect-able as you have cut away a structural part of the car.

Best place for a sub is in the boot yes. as for its position that is entirely up to the sub and box that you get, so its placement in the boot is a metter of testing it. it may sound better facing the back with rear of sub facing foward or it may sound better up against the seat facing foward. just play the same song over and over and get the best nooise out of it, with you in the drivers seat.....

as for speakers and subs, ill work out a budget system for ya.....

it is actually quite simple. i got mine removed at a car audio installation place as they have the proper tools, but I have been told that you can use the old wire coat hanger. on the head unit you will notice 2 holes on either side of the face about 2 inches apart. get a wire coathanger and bend it into a square u shape the same size and insert into both side of the holes. the head unit should just slide out..... the proper ones have lil hooks on them so u just pull them once inserted. ill try to find one of mine to take a pic of them.....
