Took off muffler/resonator

Hi all,
my mate has a VX equipe and he wanted a bit more sound out of it. So we took off the rear muffler/resonator. Its now much louder and sounds beafier.
But, is this going to be bad for the engine? and valves? does the engine still get back pressure?

The engine doesn't need back pressure. He will soon get sick of the drone. It won't hurt anything.

Yes it would be illegal, so you need to replace the muffler with a a piece of pipe so its legal

Not all cars drone with that ressy removed

why wouldn't you just pay 150 - 200 bucks and get a proper 2.5' catback... :/
