Default VT Aircon not coming out of vents

Hey guys, my 1999 commodore vt berlinas aircon comes out of the windscreen vent section, i can control it being hot or cold to a certain degree(as in celcious) but the aircon will not be sent through the aircon vents in center dash console or next to passenger and driver windows or in the back. nothing really changed with car, it kind of suddenly happened, dash has been removed a couple times though, has anyone else had the same problem as me?

You will have a leak in the vacuum system somewhere, good chance a hose has come off the distribution block which is under the glove box on the left hand side. There will be some coloured hoses plugging into a small block as well as a hose going to the storage tank just next to it.

Turn the car on with the air con on, and stick you ear down there and listen for any air escaping.

Another common cause is the thin vacuum hose which should be connected at the rear of the intake manifold has come off or is perished.

Just take out the black plastic piece above the footwell (i.e. lower down than the glovebox, towards the firewall). Just partially unscrew the plastic phillips head fasteners (i.e. not all the way out) then plull the fasteners out. Uncouple the 2 top plastic lugs (that slot in to the carpeted kick panel piece that coves the PCM/ECU) then the black plastic trim piece should come out.

Then look up under there with a torch and you'll see the coloured hoses etc.

    Default vent selector

Hi Guys just wondering if anyone knows how to fix the vent selector mine wont change from window to feet. I have tried looking under the glovebox for lose hosing but can not see anything apart from wires I've even checked behind the manifold incase the problem was there but still can't see anything.... oh I have a 2000 VT Olympic commodore

****Just an update it was that nice little hose on the back of the Manifold that had come off, put it pback in place and it works fine now. Thanks anyway for the advise received.****

I would be looking at the switch itself. There are guides on here to take the dash out, follow that and have a look behind the selector

sounds like the rubber selector gasket is screwed probably easier to replace the whole a/c heater unit with a second hand one of ebay

I just fixed my aircon after a year of putting up with this, $115 for the bar that the hoses go into in the passenger footwell.
