    Default sensor next to oil filter leaking oil!

    Hi i just noticed when i was underneath my car that the little sensor next to the oil filter is leaking oil, has anyone else had this problem? and what is the sensor called? it has started to use a bit of oil lately but i think that might be another problem with oil in the cooling system.

    Oil pressure sensor.
    Double check its leaking, sometimes when you take the oil filter off its easy to spill oil over it.

    Simple to unbolt, and bolt new one in and connect the loom during your next service (save draining the oil for no reason)

    I'd clean off the oil and chack again in a day or 2 to make sure it is leaking, but in saying that my old wagon leaked from that spot too

    why would it be required to drain the oil to change it?

    Its not, but unless your really quick, its going to lose some oil, easier just to do it at next service when the oil has been drained.

    I wouldnt think any oil would drain out. should have all drained back into the sump and whats in the oil filter. but yeh i wouldn't worry about waiting till next oil change to replace it.
    Also not to be picky but pretty sure its an oil pressure switch, not sensor

    Thats a really good point, I've only ever done them during a service, and was once told they leak if you remove them without draining the oil, but never thought more about it then that.
    Yes its a "switch" not a "sensor" in the case of Ecotechs.

    I did mine a couple of days ago when the car was cold. Sump was full to the dipstick and I lost only about 20mls of oil from the oil pressure sensor port. Tridon part number is TPS064 and they retail for around $60. Don't forget some thread sealant or teflon tape when you do it up
