Default POD filter on a VX

hey guys just want to say first. i am new and dont know if this is in the correct place. but here goes.

i bought a K&N pod filter today for my 01 vx.
just wondering if there is anything else i need to but/do before i put it on
and is it just as easy as "putting it on"

    thanks

if i remember correctly you will need an adapter pipe ( get em from ricerbarn) or make one yourself with piping and make sure you put the air temp sensor in it air temp will be plugged into your airbox.

are you installing for the noise factor or the power factor? I reckon getting a K&N panel filter for your original airbox would be the better option IMO. would work better and no muckin around fitting a pod.

if you are going to get one then you would need to upgrade your exhaust because you are getting more air into the engine, but it is still exiting the same... ive been told

put it on if you want your car to go slower

you'll be sucking in more hot air than a stock airbox. hot air = less dense = less oxygen = less power. you may see slightly improved throttle response, but there's very little chance that a standard airbox would be restricting a stock v6 ecotec anyway, so there's no point . but if your heart is set on a pod then you need to shield it from the heat (search: immortality).

edit: found some immortality for you

Levy's spot on. Whatever intake you have it should be boxed and have its own external cool air source. A highflow panel int the stock airbox s as good as it gets IMO. The intake resonance is well taken care of with the stock airbox too. This will reduce air pulsing as it enters which will impede the airflow a tad in mid to high revs
