vt sump gasket

Can a vt v6 sump gasket be changed, without removing the engine from the vehicle?
If so what has to be moved/removed to do the job?

brace the engine and undo the rack and move it back then drop the crossmember down , no need to remove the crossmember .

i need to replace the timing cover gasket and sump seal by droping the crossmember down a bit and bracing the engine just wondering if anyone could give me some detailed instrustions on removing the timing cover and crossmember thanx..
