Yesterday I had to take my daughter for a driving lesson but the seat would not adjust, so I got out of that. It does not work in any direction, up, down, forward or back.
The fuse for the power seats and the seat memory fuse are fine and I'm getting power at the fuse panel. When I operate the switches I hear a click in the seat indicating I am getting power to the seat. I would suspect a faulty motor but the passenger seat is also not working which pretty much rules that out.
Has anyone had a similar problem or any ideas on what the problem could be?

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
I had the same issue the other day, except it started out with the seat not going backwards, Memory seats worked but not the switch, I Power cycled the ignition, locked/unlocked the car and they worked again.
Think mine has to do with the BCM dying.
Thanks for the reply. I've locked and unlocked the car may times and no go. The memory buttons work, everything else changes (mirrors etc.) but no seat movement. I'm pretty sure the power seats are not control via the BCM.

My driver's seat recently failed to operate and the problem was the connection between the wiring plug and the adjuster switch on the seat.
Remove the side trim, unplug the wiring, then replug it firmly and try to operate the seat before you refit the side trim.
Is it only the driver's seat that doesn't work? If so, this cure might work for you.
It's not likely that both seats would have the same problem, but when they both fail together, you need to check whatever circuit is common to both.
The power feeds into each seat from the loom which runs along the driver's side sill panel. To test if the power and earth are working, remove the side trim from the driver's seat and unplug the adjuster switch.
The wiring connector in the loom has a red wire (power) at one end and black (earth) at the other. Check to see if you get power to the feed for the switch with a test light. Across those two terminals. If it works, the fault could be your switch. Run this test for the passenger seat as well.
If by some chance the problem ends up being the module undeer the seat for the memory settings, let me know - I have a spare I don't need.
Thanks again for the advice, hopefully I will get a chance tomorrow to have a look. I removed the kick panel and loosened the sill panel a few days ago to do something unrelated, perhaps I pinched a wire or disturbed a connector. I don't know how long the seats haven't been working though, once you get the position you like, you leave it there.

Hi accent i had a problem last week with myn last week where the i could tilt back and forth but could go up down so i pulled it out and found that the plastic on the inside had snap the little nipple off stoping the up and down movement but the switches can come apart and if you hit the problem where you think you cant get the plastic handle for switch just use a screwdriver it will come of i found myn was very black from arking and lots or crap like armour in it you can only try if not go to a pick part cheap as.
cheers bhopper
Thanks for the advice bhopper. I meant to update this thread the other day but I forgot. I finally had a chance to check it out, I unplugged the main loom behind the driver's side kick panel, plugged it back in and it worked. Must have been a bad connection. I like those easy fixes.
