Default Is this for Real??? Dishwashing liquid to rid of Oil????

My trans cooler lines cracked and i had oil in my radiator. Got a new radiator flushed a few times but there was still oil in the radiator so i did search on Google to see whats the best way to get rid of oil from the cooling system.
    The answers amazed me
It said to use dishwashing liquid and run it for 100 K's or so and flush it well...

WHY?........... what do you think will happen?
Dish washing liquid is pretty mild detergent. Or use hair shampoo, even less caustic as it doesn't even burn your eyes.

Oh ok.. I just thought that foreign substance in the cooling system will have some affect on the seals, water pump gaskets etc....

Dishwashing liquid should sort the oil problem, you could be right about the water pump seal tho, those things can be pretty sensitive.

Those cooling bsystems run 50% glycol, it will take the paint off your panels, pump seals are a lot tougher than you think. They were made of ceramic once, probably still are.
I can see you don't help your mum with the dishes!...LOL
