    Default Cleaning your MAF Sensor

    Hi All,

hope someone can give a quick answer to this one.

Is "Servisol electrical cleaning solvent" ok to clean my MAF sensor? Bought it from Jaycar.
I read a few threads and just want to make sure.

    Thanks,

    Jez.

I wouldn't recommend throttle body cleaner, that stuff is designed to clean big carbon and crap deposits, and the sensors on a MAF are very sensitive. Spend the extra $10 and get the right stuff.

I completly pulled mine down, removed the mesh & polished all alloy & lined it all up when I put it back together so there was no raised edges. Made a noticeable difference.

You know, I think I noticed a small difference after cleaning it... BUT I installed a K&N panel filter the at the same time. It feels slightly more responsive and smooth gear changes on the auto, I don't have to accelerate too much to hear that V8 sound (Standard zorst right now).

Took no time at all. Worth doing.

Yes, I don't know what it is on the VS, but I think on the VT/VX its 'MAF sensor out of range' or something.
