SOLVED
Sorry but this is my first post ever. This seems like such a great place.
Basically, I have a VT Executive 98 3.8L V6.
I had the fuel pump/fuel sensor replaced roughly 3 weeks ago, costs $450.
I am 2,000+ km's away from the next service.
Lately I have noticed the car almost stalls or does stall when I turn, regardless of direction, sharpness or speed.
Lately it has been happening more. I read through a few posts/threads and some people are suggesting its the fuel pump/fuel sensor but I just had that replaced.
What happens is that when I turn, the car goes to stall, the accelerator pedal stops working and in some cases the brakes lock up. 30 minutes ago it stalled when i was turning in a carpark. All the dash lights came on. And because I was in a carpark i was turning slowly, and it wasnt sharp. I turned the car off and turned it back on and it was fine. But then it almost stalled again turning around a round-about.
I decided to check the Computer Fault Codes using a paper clip....but it flashes 12, all the time, suggesting that the car is fine?
Thank you so much for any help/suggestions you can give me
Yeah for those who were wondering how this was solved....before spending hundreds on pointless crap like crank angle sensors and what not....try testing the battery, even if RAC says it isnt the battery. TEST THE GOD DAMN BATTERY NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cos RAC are absolutely f@#$ing hopeless. Get an auto elec to test it, its worth it.

Does this only happen at slow speeds? and does it seem to take more effort to get going then normal? Accelerating i mean.?
Just Since its wanted to stall and you said the brakes locked up a locked brake comes to mind, Happened to my dads VS, and it was very hard to get going.
thanks so much, cant believe how fast i got an answer. how much would it cost roughly?
sorry man Im not too good with cars, i know the basics. but if its any sort of aircraft im set
thanks heaps, i just hope its the one calliper. iv already spent $6000 on repairs and what not in the last 3 years. not sure if posting again would be alright, so i put it in this edit.

Its alright, hope thats all it is, Cars are endless with repairing.
FYI, its your thread so yes its ok to keep posting![]()
Not to sure Mate. Im sure they will find out when they get it in the shop. Let us know how it goes
ah man wat a load of crap. yesterday i payed $570 for a service, plus new breaks and machining. LIKE WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!! how can anything cost that much? the pricks even charged $92 to run an error code scan when i told them not to!
the car is gonna cost $2600+ to repair.
Crank shaft, crank shaft sensor are gone to hell.
major oil leak, even though my oil is always full when i check it.
shockers are gone.
steering column is on its way out.
air filter system
radiator screwed to hell
power steering
water system
back wheel somehting
and a whole lot more
funny considering i payed the pricks $960 roughly 2 months ago to change the engine mounts and do a major service on it.
man what an absolute joke. i dont think ill ever own a holden again after this
sorry to hear man, car are endless amounts of work, people just run them into the ground then sell them and the next poor bast**d has to repair it all. if you are ok with some tools you can repair some stuff your self.
Crank shaft, crank shaft sensor are gone to hell - Well The sensor you can replace your self
major oil leak, even though my oil is always full when i check it. - Where is the oil leak? if its the rear main seal that will cost a penny as the whole engine needs to be removed- if its just a drop hear and there i would not be to worried.
shockers are gone - Front and back? if its just the back you can do easy enough.
steering column is on its way out. - not to sure about that
air filter system - thats a new one? anyone else know how are filter system would need to be replaced? thought it was just a filter and the rest was just plastic tubing lol
radiator screwed to hell, - ? Does it leak? holes in it? blocked?
power steering - Is the pump gone or is it just leaking?
water system - Part of your cooling, if its the water pump there are some how to's here on how to replace it. its like 10 bolts and you remove the belt, then flush and refill, did mine about $100 inc coolent
back wheel something - i don't know that a car came with a back wheel something lol
and a whole lot more - major? minor?
After getting it back does the car run ok or is it still stalling ?
And its not cause its a holden mate, any car can end up like this if its not maintained, consider it would cost alot lot more if it was a import.
