today when i opend the hood to check radiator and oils, i noticed the battery has leaked from caps as there is a tiny little hole on each of them the acid has leaked on the chasis and taken the black paint off aswell as the bottom plate where the battery sits, car starts fine still but just wanted to know what caused this also there was a white powder on top of battery i whiped it off as i assume it was just dried acid.
Who cares what caused it, get rid of that battery before any more acid spills.

-Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short Phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Ronald Reagan (1986)
A faulty regulator can cause a battery to get so hot that it nearly boils. If this is the case you will smell a rotton egg smell along with the battery feeling very hot to the touch after a short drive, I had one that was so hot/pressurised that the sides of the battery were bulging, replaced the regulator and fixed the issue. Just a thought, might be something else of course that's causing your problem.
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'
