    Default Calliper Guide Pin stuck

    Hey Everyone, was changing the Discs on the car, and one of the calliper bracket guide pins is rusted and jammed, do i need a new calliper bracket ? or can i just free it up, as i have, not sure if its ok todo though?

    just keep pulling...if it breaks then replace it...if not..job well done...

    If it's getting too hard you could always soak it in some wd40 overnight...just watch the overspray and give it a good degrease in the morning then some brakleen to finish off..

    Yeah its free, it moves, just take some effort to move but it should be fine on the car, it did not brake so guess thats a bonus. and now has lots of WD on it lol

    never use WD40 near or on brake system rubbers as they will react and swell and can cause brake failure or brakes to stick and jam on .

    Well its a good thing i cleaned it off the rubber then lol

    keep an eye on the rubbers that came into contact with the wd40 . not so much a problem on the pin rubbers but if it gets past the piston dust boot rubber and contacts the piston seal thats a bigger problem for you .

    Use metholated spirit to clean all brake bits, then use rubber grease on guide pins when assembling.
