    Default Active Shift?

My driving style in some conditions lead me to enjoy telling my transmission to shift as far as down into the 2nd gear in my 4L60 though I wonder how much damage this is doing to my transmission. There is no shift kit's or anything like that installed the entire car is stock in terms of under performance.

I have recently planned to keep this VT for another 1 maybe 2 years and I'm interested now to somewhat improve my transmissions maybe to properly allow me to shift.

At the moment if i choose to go down shift 2nd or 3rd when traveling without power on the car seems to respond to my changes though going upward somewhat the car decides on its own and I dislike this alot, under research ive done on my own I think a stage2 shift kit will solve this, but how true is this?

I also plan to file down the shifter selector thing so I dont need to press the button of the shifter to go down into 2nd. (So bassically can just push the shifter between 2, 3 and D)

... and I know, why didn't I just get a manual right? The answer is at the time I never thought I'd enjoy the shifting and additional control of the car.

Just becareful... last thing you need is to accidiently change from D to N or R/P while driving....

I believe a shift kit will help, but to be honest ive only ever had manual commodores.

Just remove the pin in the auto shifter. That way it will select all gears without using the button. So no filing also reversible. Be warned it's un-roadworthy.
