    Default Busted fuel pump

Alright, this is my first thread here and I'll start by saying that I'm just getting into Commodores and cars in general.

Okay, well today I found out my fuel pump has gone to shit. Can't drive my car until I get a new one. Anyone know of where to get one for a cheap price? (Melbourne area)
    Car is a 97 VT.
    Thanks in advance.

Don't waste your time and money on a cheap fuel pump.
Get a GM pump, Bosch or Delphi. It will be well worth the money as you will only have to replace your fuel pump once (hopefully while you own the car).
Oh, and eBay is always pretty cheap. "VT fuel pump" will get you heaps of results, but once again, don't go for the generic or 'fuelmiser' brand.

Thanks for that Jazza15. Looked into the ebay ones, saw that the decent ones are a few hundred. Just curious as to how much a generic or 'fuelmiser' brands are?
I just need one asap so I can drive the car again, I have no problems in buying a better brand in a few weeks, as money is a bit short at the moment ><

Hey man. Not to sure about the Melbourne area. But if u try auto one, repco, ect, they will probley have one. Also just try typing it into google and see what comes up. Oh and just a few tip to keep ur new fuel pump in top cond. Never run ur car on empty. Cause the fuel pumps for those models and/or other commodores tend to suck up alot of shit from the bottom of the fuel resivours. Not good for the pump. And also run a total fuel system cleaner through your fuel system every now and again and it lubricates and just generally speaking keeps the pump in good working cond. Good luck.
