I have a 98 vt v6 for the past 2 weeks now. The car is playing up when the car is cold it runs fine no problems at all then when it get to normal orperating temp after 10 mins the car start to become slugish when driving when idling rough. But if i let the car cool down for about 15 or 20 it runs fine but after 10 its goes back to the way it was. i know beofre i got the car the guy used to put soap on the belt just about everyday because of the noise it made after the pullies were replaced. can some one help me out with this
sounds like your O2 sensors or MAF sensor, possibly MAT sensor. When the car is cold it runs in open loop and delivers fuel according to a stored chart, when it reaches temp it uses the MAF sensor, MAT sensor and O2 sensor to determine how much fuel to inject. It doesnt have a pod or oil soaked air filter does it?
I have the standard air filter which was cover in dirt so i replace that. Today the car start playing up when it was cold and also i got the smell of petrol.
Check if either your coil packs or your ignition leads are stuffed.
