VX twin fan systems

Ok here's the problem, my car overheated today as I was driving it, after much debate I ended up resolving the probelm as the radiator is blocked, does anyone no if there left hand side fan on there l67 or ecotec comes on when the aircon is switched on???? Mine dosnt, can anyone help as to why and if this could be part of the problem and or anything else, thanks guys,

On VT II- the fans are switched individually. The passenger side fan will only be switched on at exceptionally high engine temps. or A/C pressures. The subject has been covered before so a search on here should help if you want to check the fans' operation.
