Desperatly need help with diff!!!!!

Hi all, While changing shockes on the rear of my VT wagon, the side gear (as the manual calls it), where the CV joint bolt to the diff, has come out of the diff. Not completly out, about 30mm, cant get it back in. I havent removed the cv, but have tried to wiggle it back in while lifting the outer end with a jack. no luck. please any help!!!!!!

just wriggle it in there is only a little wire cir clip stopping it from pushing in if you have a dead blow hammer (rubber hammer) just lower the car so the wheel is on the floor and get under and tap it across , it will go in but some are harder then others ,
