jst wanting to know something..
are 19" vy gts rims legal on a vx sedan any help would be good..cheers boys
What state you in champ?
Didnt the rule change to rolling diameter or something and not the "2 inches" rule that people still think is in effect?
Any wheel you fit to your car that is larger than the wheels on the tyre placard they need to be engineered in NSW
Other states also have adopted this like SA, WA ,Qld ,ACT
You can go 15mm taller over all including the tyre and must not be below the load rating
Width can be 2" wider but track cannot exceed 25mm more than standard
First I've ever heard about getting wheels engineered if they are bigger than what is on the tyre placard...?
The rest of what you said seems accurate.
See this link:

Information in there seems up-to-date going on the last I heard on the issue.
It's a bloody mess at the moment with wheel/rim regulations because it all used to be covered by ADR 24 but now when you look it up on their site they say it's not covered in ADR 42 and there is nothing in ADR 42 relevant to wheel and tyre sizes.
Best bet is to ring you state road authority, not the police, the state road authority and ask them.
Your average coppers have a habit of thinking they know the current rules but being wrong in my experience.
Cheers.
i thought 18" was the size allowance for VX?
