Angry sounds like rear bearings.. but its not them?

HI all, my VT wagon has that noise that comes from the rear offside, sounds like bearings. But many hours and $140 later.... and it still makes that sound. New brake pads, new rear shocks(i know they have nothing to do with the sound, but they were stuffed) still making that sound. on inspection, the park brake shoes arent the best. But i couldnt get any 2day. what else could it be.

My father in law has a similar problem on his VX, the inside edge of his tyre was worn down to the steel bands he got a new tyre and the noise went away - the bearing noise has started to come back and the tyre is being chewed out again I suspect that when the previous ower of his car got it lowered they only put a 2 point camber kit in it and it probably requires a 4 point kit in it.

Some tyres start making a noise that sounds like bearings when the get worn (although they may still be legal). Swap with other tyres/wheels and see if the noise goes away.

no put different tyres and rims on the car.
i have a set of 18' rims with pretty poor tyres on them, so i borrowed a mates set of stockies with good quality tread (bridgestone) and the "bearing" noise disappeared.

    it was tyre noise.
