Mods, please move this if it's not in the right forum.
My car brokedown, and the engine is seized up, so a bought a VT ecotec for wrecking. It has a perfectly good engine and an aftermarket alarm system in it.
What I need done?
-Remove engine from my VT ecotec
-Move engine from wrecking VT ecotec to my VT
I have most, if not, all tools. I have occasional access to an engine crane, what I don't have is experience or complete knowledge.
Will pay with either the $400 aftermarket alarm system or cash. PM me if you wanna help a fellow member out.

I bought the Gregorys VT service/repair manual today, but I'm sort of dissapointed because I couldn't find steps for removing the engine and have been told that the Holden CD service manual has this.
Hi Zaz im no mechanic but i have just swap my vt spac supercharged engine as she blew a bottom end with a standard ecotec until repaired , ill try and givve you a little info on how i did it. well first of all it is easier to take the engine and tranny all in one as it a prick to unbolt the tranyy of engine while still in car so you will need to jack it up so you can get under her to unbolt transmission bracket and the selector componants. You will need a somthing to stop the fluid from coming out of transmission when you finally pull it out and staining your driveway ,you can buy a plastic plug from supercheap auto for 15-20 but you will need to wrapped the end in tape as there not a perfect fit . with the engine we found it easier to pull the engine with the loom still all on just have to remove the plugs from the computer and the plastic plug the holds loom in firewall. You also wana unbolt your bolt from exhaust system from the headers to the pipes while you are under the car and leave headers on the engine to save stuffing the gaskets. Also remove your radiator to make it easier to remove motor and installing replacement motor and to avoid stuffing your fans and radiator. From memory you have to disconnect the + battery terminal as that wil come with the motor. Now the thing you have to take off are the radiator hoses ,fuel lines and mark them so you know which one feeds and returns ,vacuum lines and the hoses that go to your heater tap and thats about all from memory dont bother unbolting your starter motor as it will come with the motor and loom aswell. Also with the tranny lines unbolt the ones that connect up to your radiator as they will also come out with the motor as they are to hard to remove while in car . Also you will need to undo the high pressure line from the power steering pump
as you dont wana stuff it a sthey are pretty expensive . last but not least the engine mount nuts under the car. Also leav ethe bolts that are bolted up to your tranny bracket till last as the motor might drop back and might make life bit hard thats all that i can remember its not hard we did my in my drive way which is on a hill so just take the time to look out for anything still connected whil pulling motor out. If you have any troubles email if you wont but im sure if you know a little you should be right ,it the only way to learn is do it .Also depending on where the after market alarm has been wiried into it might worth just cutting the wires and taking notes where they have been wired up to because if it has been wired up on the body loom thats a big job as you have to remove the whole dash to remove and replace with the loom from your wreck .
good luck with it
cheers bhopper
