cheak your fule cap might be a stupid thing to say but sometime when there not sealing right the fuel smel can get in side the car by the aerodynamics of the car

I had a bit of fuel smell in my car, turned out to be the Purge canister was unplugged. Easy to check, run car for couple of minutes, turn off, open fuel cap, if lets out a fair amount of gas (you will know) then canister isn't venting fuel fumes.
