    Default Removing doors from VT

Can anybody tell me how to go about removing the three pins that hold the front and back doors on? and how do these pins go back in afterwards??

I have damage to drivers side front and rear door and am looking for a trouble free way to change them over for good straight doors.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks

You have to knock the hinge pins out. You can use a punch or an old bolt a bit smaller in diameter than the pin and tap them out with a hammer. Disconnect the door loom first and have someone hold the door when you remove the pins because they are heavier than they seem.

Just a tip with doing this, I found it far easier to get the hinge pin tool to do this. I tried a punch and other various things and all I did was make a mess.

Something like this makes it an easy job

I think you should be able to re-use the pins if you don't damage them.

The pins are reusable, they are just a narrow shaft with a threaded nut at one end, undo the nut, slide the shaft through the pin and then put the nut back on.

The long bar has a grove which slides into the pin, and then you tap it with a hammer and it should come out. You could also put some WD 40 on and let that soak in before you start, might make it easier.
