    Default how to remove sway bar VT VX

    how to remove the sway bar ( not the sway bar link) in a VT VX?

    do i need to remove the cross member bar to take it out?

    also will i vx sway bar fit a vt sway bar?

    vx sway bar got 2 boll joints in the link
    vt sway bar got all rubber bushes

    I've never had to remove a stabiliser bar but according to my manual the crossmember needs to be removed.

    thanx mate, you are right

    ou have to drop the cross member bar (K frame) where the engine mounts are connected tooo so ***en big job...

    pedders said they have a VZ style 2 ball joint sway bar link .... $180 for the pair

    might look in to it next few days ey

    Yeah it is a big job, recommend getting a professional to do it because it all needs to get aligned properly when its reassembled, and a good shop will have the tools to do that.

    Also remember that the VZ links will only fit VZ-style shocks, so if you plan to use the VZ links you'll have to change them too.

    you can get double jointed link pins for pre VZ

    As in an L shaped link with ball joins at both ends?

    I have just got a vx vy ball joint type sway bar with the correct link pins to go on my 10 year old vt ss as they are a bit tired and thought i would do it today and found out the hard way that you cannot remove old sway bar apparently without supporting the engine with hoist drop k frame and slip out old in with new!! will do when i have more . I have the manual to refer to but it didnt read like that the first time i read it hope this helps..

    im currently attempting to remove my old sway bar n put in the whiteline 30mm adj bar... reading this... i think ill get it done profesionally...
    VZ SV6 now, Jelly?
