Pulling my hair out here guys.
My VXII threw a rod through the block so I sourced the drive train from a VY wreck with perfect running gear (120,000km. heard running before being removed, high compression on all 6 cylinders, tight clean auto). Both the engine and tranny were swapped in to my VXII.
Car starts perfectly with minimal noise and idles fine but as soon as I throttle engine it nearly stalls. I can hear engine take a big gasp of air then nothing seems to happen. If I'm lucky engine will recover and idle again, other wise it stalls.
I have given car complete service (oils, filters, injectors, leads, plugs cleaned or replaced) before installing engine/tranny but can't work it out.
I even checked the hoses and wiring with a mates VY and can't work out where I've gone wrong.
Any ideas?
Make sure you have connected the Vacuum lines up to the right spots. One Vacuum line in the wrong spot can make a Difference.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
Sounds like you have the mass air flow sensor unplugged???
Or there is a massive vacuum leak in the intake pipe to MAF???
Thats what I thought. Thats why I checked with a mates VY.
Worked it out. bend pin on the MAF sensor. Feel like such an idiot. Gotta be careful.
Thanks for the quick reply guys
