Cant figure out if series 1 or 2

Can anyone help me figure out if my vx is a series 1 or 2. Im a little confused the vin number appears to match a serie 2 andthe manufacture date is 1/8/2001, but i do have a square wiper stalk end and the grille dosent match the body.

If the VIN says series 2 then it is a series 2. The rear suspension had adjustment introduced into the series 2, also the cruise control switch went to a twist style switch from the previous push button style.

also there is a badge on the back that would say series II

If the bars on your grille are vertical then its a series 1 , If they are in a criss cross style then its a series 2

If the bars on your grille are vertical then its a series 1 , If they are in a criss cross style then its a series 2

Thats because the VX S and SS packs had the verticle grilles still. The VX S1 and S2 Exec/ Acclaim/ Lumina grilles changed between series
