making my car louder

i would like to know if i could make my VT v6 any louder or more of a tone to it. it has pacemaker extractors and 2 1/2 inch exhaust? cheers look forward to hearing what everyone comes up with?

If it already has extractors and exhaust then its as loud as you'd want it to be, otherwise it might be a lot of drone and it could be illegal in your state if its too loud.

Well you could just have the headers on it. Its insanely loud then, but is highly illegal lol

It's highly ILLEGAL the cops will bend you over for it espically if your on your p's.

High flow cats and rear hots dog will give it a little more noise...

But a good sounding exhaust normally comes from a good sounding engine. And unfortunately the VT V6 isnt well known as a racing engine (well to people who know something about cars, im sure to the local youth its the best engine ever made).

Not sure what the laws in your state are like (or your budget) but a port and polished exhaust, cam and possibly roller rockers will give a little more note, but are expensive.

Ah ffs, no, driling holes in you exhaust is not legal nor is it good for your fuel economy. Why even suggest it, you know someone is actually going to try that.

Get a cd with the sounds of a V8 and hook the volume control to your accelerator.

Drilling holes is NOT legal and will reduce fuel economy, but WILL make it louder.
A larger pipe as far as i know is completely legal as long as the mufflers are not removed.

Another option might be a dual system.

a mate had a duel system on his vt with all mufflers, and i have a 2 1/2 catcack system 1 muffler 1 resonator. mine was louder all through the rev range. you could take out a muffler, but it would drone like hell and attract the cops. maybe a resonator in place of the rear muffler might work. you'd have to ask your local exhaust place to test it. i know mine without extractors is pushing 94DB. under 90DB is legal.

If you want to get a deepeer not then cut the exhaust off just after the wheel where the cabin of the car finishes . THIS IS LEGAL as the rules of the exhaust is that the pipe must end after the cabin of the vehicle. This will make it that one note deeper and in my opinion sounds good, just keep the tip on stuff on so it doesn't look like it finishes early, sounds really nice.

ALso for anyone with a ute they can do the same and take off the exhaust just after the middle muffler because that is past the back of the cabin of the vehicle
