ive got a 1998 vt commodore acclaim and every time you turn the blinker off, you can still hear the clicking coming from dash area. what would be the problem or how do i fix this its driving me nuts. please help me
check the relay in your fuse area under ther steering wheel, most likely needs replacing holden charge about $25 for the part.
Does the cliker speed up when its off? Mine does the same. Its the stalk its self asi replaced it with a cruise control stalk and done it ever since, very minor connection and casuing it to click. only happens if i gentle turn the indicator off though.
Same problem, I fitted a new stalk assembly and problem solved. Common fault in the Commys, so I was told. New one with cruise was just under $40.
I then pulled the old indicator stalk to pieces, and found that it was NOT worn out, but the grease had gone a bit hard across the contacts and had picked up a trace of copper in it from the contacts. This was enough to allow a few milli volts to track across and activate a section of indicator relay (without the globes flashing) when the stalk was in the neutral position.
Next time I will wash out the old switch grease and re-assemble. Prick of a job, but it can be done.
Yep same thing happened to me and was driving me insane. kept on ticking as soon as you touched the blinkers etc. replaced the stalk and fixed it.
ah I was just about to put a post of the same problem, cheers fellas
Im not going to state the obvious here. Not worth the 1000'th thread on it imo.
