Ticking noise

Hey dunno if some 1 has made a topic bout this yet but.....

I have a rather nasty ticking noise on the left hand side of my engine in my car ( its a V6 super btw). It gets louder and faster with higher RPM.... sometimes its not so bad tho, its kinda weird

Any one have any idea what could be causing this??

Your lifters or "tappets" is the most likely problem

pms what about an extractor leak my vt had same problem noise stoped when i put high temp gasket glue around leak only for a short term fix if it were my liffters or tappets i'd still hear it wouldn't i ?

Well yeah i guess so, but i presume an extractor leak and noisy lifters would make differant noises but if the gasket glue fixed your noises then yes that was the leak was the culprit.
