VT SS Series II - Auto transmission

Hi guys,

would anyone know what type of auto trans is in a series ii vt ss?

Also while I'm at it I'm thinking of 'upgrading' the auto cuz it looks like it's getting too tired. Anyone know of a good upgrade in the Holden range of autos ?

4l60e i think are yo gonna go manual or auto again

Sticking with the auto. Also I've read somewhere that there are autos with model numbers 9HPD and 2HPD ?

Hi Tigass,

I believe GM also produced a auto transmodel 4l65e which from my understanding is a heavy duty version of the 4l60e and it bolts straight up. I recall reading somehere that these can be picked up for around about the same price too.

Personally I'd be inclided to keep the original spec box, however I'd give it a good going over and install a stage two shift kit or even fully manualise it with a stage three ;-)

The two 'models' I mentioned above, 9HPD and 2HPD they are also 4l60e. Do you know what the difference is?
