Hi All,
Can anyone advise whether VE SS 18" wheels are a direct fit on a VT Commodore? No machining or spacers? They seem a decent option in 18s if an easy fit.
Thanks.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
Genuine rims need machining, replicas will fit straight up.
Has anyone done the machining? Is it an expensive operation? I guess if more than 150 or so, you may as well just get vt specific wheels as much more than this would put the cost of the wheels up there with new ones.
OK, the next key wheel questions are:
1. Are the wheels from VT-VX all directly interchangeable?
2. I have heard that BMW wheels will also fit the VT: Can anyone advise on what series Beemer works with no issues/machining?
Thanks - New to this so thanks for the patience in advance!
1. - Yes pretty much.
2. - Yes but be very sure you have the right offset as there is a lot of variation in BMW wheels as opposed to Commodore. As a general guide, stick to 3 series wheels. BMW wheels also have a 72.6mm centre bore where-as pre VE Commodores have a 69.5mm centre bore, meaning that you will need hub rings (not spacers) to fit them safely. Wheel nuts are also different from BMW to Commodore.
