VX stereo displays TEL, no sound

Hello,

I have had my VX for 5 years and finally the Nokia car phone cradle that was mounted from beside the stereo gave me the shits as I have never used it. I managed to break off the steel mount and then I just cut the wires to the cradle. All sounds good and simple, but now the stereo displays TEL and obviously thinks that the phone is in use and is putting the phone call through the stereo.

Can someone please tell me what the solution is. Hopefuly it is as simple as joining some wires on the phone harness together so the stereo thinks that the phone is not in use.

Any way hope someone has the solution.

under the left hand side of the console, in the passenger footwell, you will find a plastic connector that the phone wiring is connected to. One of the wires, when earthed will make the radio mute, and TEL display. You have cut the wire and not insulated it properly, and it thinks the phone is connected all the time.
Pull the harness out and fix it.

Just a couple of questions, so what you are saying is when I cut the wires one of them is now touching another? So I need to make sure all the wires are not touching each other? Can I do this with the phone cable or do i need to diconnect the plug anmd that will fix it? Sorry to ask soo many questions, I'm a beginner at this.
