Hi guys,
So over the past few weeks ive been trying to figure out what is going on with my car.. The problem started one day when i was driving along, i parked for about 20 minutes, and when i tried to start the car again it wouldnt start...it was turning over but no start...So i left it for a couple of hours and went to try starting it again... this time started fine... a few days later i was driving and the car started to feel like its cutting out, all of a sudden it did cut out...
since then i have not been able to get it started at all, still turns over but wont start.. its been like this for 2 weeks now... i tested to check if there was any spark at the plugs but nothing... i changed the coil pack and distributor, still nothing...
any suggestions on this would be MUCH appreciated... thankyou!
you checked the battery? the alternator could no longer be working good and hasnt been charging the battery. check the voltage of the battery that its over 13v.
yeah battery is fine cos the car cranks over fine just wont fire up..alternators about 6 months old.
my car done this....turned out it was a black wire under the steering wheel column that connected to the engine cut off...it had fallin off..worth a look anyway.just follow your ignition under the cover..good luck![]()
When you say you have replaced your coil pack, do you have a VT1 (Holden V8) or a VT2 (Gen3 V8). Holden V8s only have a coil not a coil pack. If you have a Holden V8 you need to change your ignition trigger module.
If there is no spark that means it’s the ignition side if things
you said you have changed the coil.
But have you changed the ignition module that gives the signal to the
coils. If there is no signal from the ignition module there will be no spark
have done some of them at my work.
