Remote Boot Entry how to test

As the title states all my keys have the remote boot release, but they have never worked (i have 6 keys so i doubt it the keys). I would suspect that it is a fault with the remote receiver (keep in mind that the keyless entry works).

Begin that it's a calais i would only assume that it has the remote boot entry, so basically i am just wondering if anyone knows how to test to see weather or not i have it and if how to fix the stupid thing.

Yes the VT/VX Calais models have remote boot unlocking (i.e. 3rd button on keyhead & button in glovebox).

Try to open the boot by pressing the button in the glovebox - if it doesn't open either, then the fault is with the boot release solenoid. Check the wiring plugs at the solenoid (in the bootlid near the lock) and check the fuses as well.

But if the boot does open then the solenoid is working fine, which means there is some other electrical fault (such as damaged/faulty wiring or faulty remote key receiver). Could also be a faulty BCM although i doubt it.

You say all 6 of your keyheads are the same (i.e. none of them will open the boot) so surely it can't be them.

I don't know how/what you'd test to solve this. Probably needs to be checked by a dealership using Tech2.

Also try taking the the pressure off the lock by opening the boot with the key

With the boot open, manually locking the catch with a pen or similar and trying the remotes

The boot release in the glove box works fine, so it has go nothing to do with the catch. I am half thinking it could be a faulty BCM. Anyone else got any thoughts?

i have which all remotely unlock the doors. i doubt that its the key pads

Take the solenoid off , get a couple of lengths of wire and test it with the car battery

The Manual (glove box) boot release works fine. I need to test the remote system, thats what i need to know how to do

hmm i would love to get this installed in my VR exec. will parts from the calais fit?

take it to some-one with a tech2,
how did you end up with 6 remotes ?, i believe they need to be programmed as a 2 or 3 button. is it possible that car did not come with remote boot release or some-one added the glovebox button. again would need tech2 to check

Figure as much.
It was a Qfleet car so thats what i have 6 remotes. But only one has good rubbers
