hi, just wondering if anyone knows if a vx hsv clubsport cat back exhaust would be a good choice for a vt l67......... do they line up with l67's(been told they line up ok) and would it have any increase of power over the stock exhaust?? its a tad over 2 1/4 inch (2.36') twin, hsv mufflers, dont include rear muffler thou. . its $130 from wreckers on gold coast. mine's only 2inch twin. but read 2.5 twin is a bit to big unless doing alot of work to engine. not sure if its worth it and weather to get it or not.
another option- ebay has new 2.5 twin for $300.
i just had tim explain it to me, so i think he said as long as its a series II it should fit but you should get ride of the factory cats ( because they restrict alot ) and get high flow ones. it will be better for extra power but you wouldn't have a deep tone like an after market exhaust, but just double check with him or someone on that before you buy it or not

Wanted To Buy=>> Mace 12mm or 25mm Manifold spacers - VX SS Headlights - VY handbrake complete set up
For Sale=>> vt/vx Berlina/Calais chrome window surround PM me for more details
cheers mr vx, yeah its a series 2 acclaim, (well the car is), but engine, old exhaust, cats are a series 1 i think. just put the motor in not long ago..
i think you would be better off getting a new after market exhaust to suit your needs. or ur work out like me and get a new exhaust before buying a s/c then work out i should have paid more and got the twin set firstly lol

at the moment i got twin cats and twin 2' factory supercharged exhaust up to near the rear muffler then joins into single.
I have a series1 vt super6, and it has around 200k on it, I picked up a factory exhaust of a later model with an ls1 in it, when I bolted it in, I put them side by side, the only difference is the chrome tip on the end. If you are getting aftermarket, for extra power, then I would guess it would match up pretty much the same. I just needed to change mine because the original one was pitted around the mufflers. The one I bought I picked up for $20 with 30k on the clock. A lot of people change the exhaust on ls1's so you can pick up the cat back pretty cheap.
From what I have read you don't need hi flow cats, the stock cats aren't that restrictive, but the small joining pipe between the header and cat back is smaller than the rest. which includes the stock cats.
The first thing to change on these for performance is the pulley, so for bang for your buck, apparently change the pulley before exhaust.
cheers for that
well after all that- it dont fit,,,,,,,,,,,, the center mufflers are about 100mm longer than standard ones so it dont fit in the pockets where they normally sit ,plus the hanging hooks are different, they usually have one hook on each side of both mufflers but this one has 2 hooks on the outside of each muffler and sit too low(they're on bottom of muffler's not top) and too long for my cats. couldnt see it fitting on any vt sedan, i reckon its off a ute or something, god dam
there is a good reason why everyone with ls1 get rid of the stock exhaust there would be no difference between the one you have now and the ls1 exhaust apart from it being twin 2.25 or whatever. if you were in perth ive got a twin 2.5 with supercat mufflers i could of given you
just so you know wana the dual 2.25" is standard on the xu6 so its a good size. i have dual 2.5" and it loves it with the 10psi.
i were guna get a twin 2.5' but its straight thru/no muffler at the rear but herd its too loud/dronie. some people say there too big and 2.25' is better, some say it sounds crap, so a bit unsure what the hell to get now.
180sc is yours straight thru or do u have a rear muffler??
I have an xforce system with 2 mufflers and a resi and its fairly loud but not loud enough for cops to hassle ya and it does drone in the car with the windows down very loudly but up its ok.
Going 10psi pulley dropped 1/4 time from 15.1 to 14.5 the cat back and k&n filter dropped my times to 14.28 yet to run with gearbox mods hoping for 14 flat.
I got pacemaker ext and twin 2.5", hiflow cats. Each side has 1 muffler each than a rear res aswell and my boost gauge shows 10.5-11 psi all the way from very low in revs and it sounds great in the car (because you can only hear the beautiful blower whine) lol but from outside it sounds horrible. Have been told it sounds like somehtin rattlin in the muffler. But it only sounds like this wen in boost and not in vaccum. I also got a W2A cooler, 1.95 RR and 70mm TB, k&n pod too.
If i had the cash I would sell this exhuast from the cats back and get a single 3 inch.
not having a dig at ya, just wondering- but how dose a 3' single flow better than twin 2.5'? twin 2.5 = 5inch's of flow, single 3' = 3inch's. is it the 2nd center muffler restricting the flow more than a single center muffler? or whats the go .
wow sorry to hear about the muffler not fitting. if you need me to take measurements of mine just PM me.
i think the 3inch is meant to sound better. Not sure about the flow properties, but I think the flow rate increases, by a larger rate as the pipe gets bigger. Also, we are not sure on the setup. I would imagine, just mandrell bends would make a difference. I really don't know that much about it, but don't think the formula comes down to simple arithmetic.
its all good, got the angle grinder onto itcut a small section off and welded it back on, cut the hangers off to relocate them and bloody run out of welding wire, lol. so had to upgrade to the good old coat hanger for now, but it sounds deadly. no muffler on the rear yet so its pretty loud. def be needing a rear muff/resi . wouldnt mind one of the electric 3 stage mufflers thou. change from either quiet to mid level to straight thru with a flick of a switch
